How to Install

Installation Instructions: Step One: Download Sole_Survivor_1.05.7z and extract the contents of the archive to “C:\Westwood\Sole Survivor” (you may need to create this directory beforehand), then run SOLE_INSTALL.REG.

Step Two: Download Westwood_Chat_4.221.7z, open the archive and run Westwood_Chat-4.221.exe, then follow the steps to install Westwood Chat.

Running The Game: Launch Westwood Chat via the Start Menu shortcut. After opening Westwood Chat, you will see a dialog box named: “Register now?” with two options: “Continue loading Westwood Online” and “Run Internet Registration applet”. Choose the first option to “Continue loading Westwood Online”. In the next window you will see the option to input your Nickname and Password. If you have a previous account on XWIS (the service this WChat client hooks into)_, you can log in as normal. Otherwise, if this is the first time you have logged into this, then the login process will be be effectively registering an account for you. Whatever you input here will be saved and registered automatically after you click OK, so before you do so, please read on. It is important that you do not forget this information, as we do not run the XWIS service and there is no way to get your password back or reset it. Write your password down before clicking OK! If you select a nickname that is already in use, then the client will be expecting the correct password and immediately disconnect you afterwards if it is incorrect. Simply open the client again and use a different nickname and password.
